Why you should treat every day like New Year’s Day!
Are you are wishing for a better year ahead?
At our house, it would be nice to think 2012 would be an improvement over 2011 . I recognize there are certain factors that are out of our control, but for everything else, it’s all about the choices we make and the actions we take.
Seems everyone this week is talking about New Year’s Resolutions. Personally, I think the idea is flawed. New Year’s Day is like a procrastinator’s dream. Why start now, when I can wait until New Year’s Day.
I think New Year’s Resolutions set people up to fail. It’s much easier to quit if it’s a once a year commitment.
“Ah, I blew it. Back to my old ways.”
We often forget that there are 365 days in a year. 365 days to make a difference. Or in the case of 2012, 366 days. Thank you Leap Year.
Some of those days you’ll do better than others. But it’s important to recognize, it’s not all or nothing. It’s a journey.
One day, one choice at a time.
If you are setting a New Year’s Resolution my advice to you is:
“It’s great to have an end goal, but don’t get so caught up in the past or future that you lose sight of the present.”
Wishing everyone healthy and happy days ahead.
